Opportunities for learning a foreign language at lakeside are taking a quantum leap with the opening of the Chapala branch of Proulex, a corporate affiliate of the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG).
With the capacity to serve 800 local students, the language institute will be of particular benefit to those enrolled in the UdeG CU-Chapala university programs and in the Preparatoria Regional de Chapala, according to Proulex-Comlex System General Director Edwin Bello, who presided at the symbolic inauguration ceremony held Wednesday, October 25.
It will likewise offer instruction to persons in the productive sector with courses in English, Mandarin Chinese, French and German, and to foreign residents wishing to study Spanish.
Proulex classrooms have been accommodated on the second story of CU-Chapala’s provisional headquarters, located at Niños Héroes 69, a block and a half off Avenida Madero in Chapala.
Bello indicated that courses will get underway later this month, with options for on-site or virtual attendance. However, precise information on schedules, costs and enrollment procedures has not yet been released.
Proulex operates at a dozen locations in the Guadalajara metropolitan area. With the addition of Chapala, there are now seven branch schools spread out elsewhere in the state.
Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, the Chapala branch of the Proulex language school chain will be lining up courses in English, Mandarin, French, German and Spanish.
