Master artisans from all corners of Mexico will soon pack up their wares and bring them to lakeside for the 2024 Feria Maestros del Arte, scheduled from Friday, November 8 to Sunday, November 10.
This year’s extraordinary folk art event will take place at a new location, spread out on the grounds of the Hotel Real de Chapala in lower La Floresta.
The Feria will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, closing a half-hour earlier on Sunday.
The event’s mission is to promote and preserve Mexican folk art and support the communities that produce these diverse hand-crafted products. It provides artisans a platform to sell their works while raising regional and international awareness about the value of these endangered arts. Artisans are invited based on the quality and merit of their work, as well as their ability to continue producing it. The Feria has a special interest in crafting practices passed down for generations within families, and also welcomes cooperatives that benefit more than one family.
