Marijuana debate
Dates have been set for Mexico’s federal legislators and senators to discuss the possible legalization of marijuana. Sessions and audiences involving experts on the issue will take place from January 25 to February 17.
Bodies identified
As expected, Mexico has confirmed that the charred bodies found in a burnt-out camper van are those of two Australian surfers who went missing in a botched robbery. A van belonging to one of the Australians was found in state of Sinaloa in late November with two charred corpses inside. Officials ran DNA tests to identify them.
Tequila record
Mexico has set a new record for tequila exports, dispatching 180 million liters to 120 countries in 2015, according to the Tequila Regulatory Council.
