2017 marks the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation, as well as the 100th anniversary of the Mexican Constitution.
“Although we don’t have anything to announce yet, I’m sure it will be a busy year,” says Stéphane Charbonneau, consul and senior trade commissioner at the Canadian Consulate in Guadalajara.
“We’re expecting quite a few public events. And, of course, we will be interested in working with the Chapala community.”
The Canadian Confederation was the process by which the British colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick were united into one Dominion of Canada on July 1, 1867.
