Mexico’s Census resumed after Covid-19 suspension

The 2020 head count of Mexico’s population is underway again after the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) survey was suspended in mid-March as the coronavirus pandemic began sweeping the country.

The census was originally scheduled to run from March 2 to 27, with spillover into early April if needed.

Authorized INEGI census-takers resumed door-to-door visits to lakeside residences on Monday, June 29, picking up where they left off to apply questionnaires designed to determine how many people reside in the nation and their economic and household living conditions.
