The United Sates will be the invited country of honor at the upcoming Cervantino Festival in the city of Guanajuato, scheduled October 13 to 29.
Sonora is the guest state from Mexico.
Organizers say this year’s program will include more than 100 separate cultural shows, featuring around 2,200 performers and artists.
Begun in 1972, the Cervantino festival has grown to become the most important international artistic and cultural event in Mexico and Latin America, and one of four major events of its type in the world.
