Bullfights back in the capital, maybe?

A few days after bullfighting resumed in Mexico City after a 20-month pause, a judge has ordered another suspension of the controversial activity in the capital.

The decision will displease the thousands of fans who packed Plaza México in Mexico City last weekend at the first corrida to be held at the famous bullring since the Supreme Court lifted a ban on these events at the venue.

Personalities from the sporting and entertainment worlds were among the full house of 40,000 spectators that turned up to welcome back the “Fiesta Brava” to the capital on Sunday, January 28.

The party atmosphere inside the arena, however, was in complete contrast to the angry protest held by hundreds of animal rights activists outside the bullring.
