Biden’s border order has reduced migrant ‘encounters’

Undocumented migration to the United States has fallen significantly since President Joe Biden’s executive order imposing stricter asylum rules took effect in June.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), there were about 58,000 “encounters” reported between ports of entry along the southwest border in August, a drop of 68 percent compared to a year earlier.
