Is Colombian pop singer Shakira Mexico’s most beloved performer? By all accounts, she’s certainly the most popular.
In March, Shakira brought her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour to Mexico, performing 20 concerts across the country, including 11 in Mexico City and two in Guadalajara.
The enthusiasm and demand for tickets were so high that tour sponsors Ocesa quickly added “follow-up” dates for 17 additional concerts in August and September.
This week, Ocesa announced the sale of the one-millionth ticket for the tour in Mexico, calling Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran “one of the most successful tours in the history of live entertainment.”
