Edwin Trietler

Edwin Trietler, a long-time Puerto Vallarta resident, died June 26.

Born February 6, 1940 in New York City, Trietler worked as a graphic designer in New York before moving to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where he was the publisher of New Visions, a holistic guide.

A resident of Puerto Vallarta since the late 1990s, Trietler was an artist whose works were shown in a variety of galleries over the years in both the United States and Mexico, as well as a writer who worked for many English-language publications in the area, including the Guadalajara Reporter.

He was an ordained minister of the Church of Spiritual Humanism and held a Master’s Degree in Psychology Art Therapy. He was also a certified psychosynthesis therapist and a celebrated astrologer. With his knowledge of practical psychology, alternative healing and esoteric traditions, Trietler counseled people with a soul-centered approach.

A memorial service for Trietler was held June 30 at Las Brazzas Restaurant on Isla Rio Cuale.
