Robert P. Morris

Ajijic resident Robert P. Morris died on December 29 at his home in Villa Nova after a long battle with leukemia. He was 75 years old.

Born March 15, 1937 in Portland, Oregon, Morris attended Washington High School and was an alumnus of Oregon State University. Upon his graduation he taught elementary school and sold insurance and other products. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.

Morris moved to Mexico and Lakeside in 1996. An avid golfer, he became a member of the Chapala Country Club until 2008 and accumulated six aces in his playing days. He supported the Animal Shelter and adopted several animals from there.

Morris was active in a group providing horse-back riding therapy for children with disabilities. He was known for his humor and quick wit and he made many good friends who will sorely miss him.

He is survived by a second cousin, Sarah Aldrich of Beaverton, Oregon. At his request there will be no memorial service.
