Ajijic resident Katherine Gladden died February 8 at the home of her mother in Reno, Nevada, where she had gone for treatment for Lou Gehrig’s Disease at the age of 69.
Gladden was born in Elko, Nevada on July 28, 1944. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service and the management of two ranches before moving to Ajijic in 1992.
Gladden loved horses, dogs and most other animals. While in Ajijic, she raised two Mexican children, who survive her. She is also survived by her husband, Perry Gladden and five children, Brian, Sean, Kathleen, Raymond and Camela, her mother Wanda Brown and sister Patricia Hardman.
There will be no memorial or funeral services.
