The Jalisco state government has launched a new public information campaign in coordination with committed partners in the political, academic and civic spheres of society to encourage the correct use of face masks, with the aim of reducing the chain of Covid-19 infections and speeding up the economic recovery.
The campaign, titled “Estamos junt@s y lo traemos bien puesto,” is a joint initiative with the University of Guadalajara (UdG) and other educational institutions, the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce, business organizations, unions, media outlets, sports clubs, municipal governments and other civic groups.
“Wearing a face mask reduces the possibility of Covid-19 transmission by 70 percent,” Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro said at the launch of the initiative. “This campaign sends a powerful message, that Jaliscienses are closing ranks and demonstrating once again the greatness of our state.”
UdG Rector Ricardo Villanueva said the campaign has the support of 111 municipalities; sports clubs such as Atlas, Chivas, Leones Negros, Astros de Jalisco and Charros; 131 civil organizations, 150 companies and hotels; as well as 47 influencers, bloggers, artists and producers, among others.
