Only 130 hospitalized with Covid in Jalisco

Due to falling infections and hospitalization numbers, the Jalisco Health Department has reduced the number of public hospital beds designated for patients with Covid-19.

As of last week, just over 130 people were receiving treatment for Covid-19 at public hospitals, more than three-quarters of them at IMSS facilities. In late July 2020, health authorities reported a high of 830 people hospitalized by the virus in Jalisco. This figure increased dramatically during the second wave, when the highest peak of hospitalizations, 1,855, was reported on January 28, 2021. The number of hospital beds available for Covid patients in Jalisco now stands at 1,827.
