Emissions testing program picks up speed

A new vehicle emissions testing center that opened recently in Octolan is the first outside the Guadalajara metropolitan area, and brings the number of facilities now operating in Jalisco to five.

pg9aThe five Centros de Verificación Responsable, or CVRs as they are referred to, contain 17 testing lines, and are able to check the emissions of 935 vehicles each day. The state government eventually plans to have around 280 testing lines operating at centers spread across Jalisco. 

Vehicles that pass the test are given a sticker (calcomania) that must be displayed on the front or rear windscreen.  They are valid for one year.

The five centers are located at the following addresses:

• Centro Oficial de Medición (COM), Enrique Díaz de León Norte 1215, Colonia Mezquitán Country, Guadalajara.

• Centro AIRE Guadalajara (CVR 0001), Tamaulipas 1059, Colonia Observatorio, Guadalajara.

• CVR Dekra (CVR 0002), Carretera Los Altos 1510, Colonia San Pedrito, San Pedro Tlaquepaque.

• CVR Ecocenter (CVR 0003), Mariano Otero 889, Colonia Mariano Otero, Zapopan.

• CVR Ocotlán (CVR 0004), Avenida 20 de noviembre 537, Colonia Nuevo Fuerte, Ocotlán.
