Health authorities have ramped up Covid vaccination programs in the Lake Chapala area throughout April, with AstraZeneca shots made available over the Easter vacation period at various public venues including the Chapala Malecón and the Ajijic Plaza.
It was announced that local branches of the state-operated Centro de Saud public health clinic system are offering AZ jabs through April 30.
A number of foreign residents reported that they were able to get first and second booster shots (third or fourth doses) at different locations. Some indicated that they didn’t need to show all of the usual requisite paperwork, but it is advisable to take original and photocopies of all vaccination records, CURP registration, INM immigration ID cards and proof of residence to avoid possible red tape snags.
