PB&J, ok, but peanut butter & tequila ... really?

Want to try a different kind of tequila concoction that definitely wants to buck tradition?

pg4Check out Chica~Chida Peanut Butter Agave Spirit, which, say creators Piermont Brands, “represents our rebellion against the stale and pretentious norms of the industry.”

This “made-in-Tequila, Jalisco” brand is being marketed in collaboration with Caleb Pressley, a former quarterback, and current podcaster and interviewer for the sports and pop culture blog Barstool Sports, known for his satirical style. In its quirky promotional material, Pressley says: “Chica~Chida is peanut butter, butt better. I say Butt because Chica~Chida makes my tonsils twerk and my brain bounce that ass.”

Created in 2019 by Sam Hirsch and Charles Sachs, Piermont Brands first spirit was Tequila Cayéya, which is contract distilled at the Destiladora Distillery in Jalisco.

According to the latest reports, Piermont is “exploring” the construction of its own distillery in Jalisco, as it launches two “craft” variants of its Cayéya range.

In a recent press release, Hirsch and Sachs emphasized the brand’s “dedication to fostering a more playful drinking culture.”

Piermont says Chica~Chida “blends the essence of agave with allergen-free peanut butter extract … to deliver an explosively flavorful shot experience that defies expectations.”

Packaged in 750-ml bottles, the 32-percent ABV Chica~Chida is available for purchase online and in markets in New Jersey, Florida, South Carolina and Connecticut, the company says.
