Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus has kicked off the new year with a significant financial commitment, announcing a budget package of 100 million pesos for investment in the state’s 12 Pueblos Mágicos.
The announcement came on Thursday, January 2, during Lemus’s first working tour of 2025 in San Sebastián del Oeste, where he was joined by officials representing the state’s magic town municipalities.
In addition to San Sebastián del Oeste, Jalisco’s Pueblos Mágicos include Ajijic, Cocula, Mascota, Mazamitla, Lagos de Moreno, San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Sayula, Talpa de Allende, Tapalpa, Temacapulín and Tequila.
According to Lemus, the funding will be used for infrastructure projects, urban image enhancements, improved signage and training programs, all aimed at boosting tourism in these destinations. He emphasized that the funds will not be distributed equally but rather allocated on a competitive basis, determined by specific proposals tailored for each community.
