Friends report that Ajijic resident Fred Joseph DiGiulio died August 18 “with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other,” in the presence of his best friend of 46 years, Mark Bennett.

William van der Stoel died July 23 at the Ajijic Clinic, after multiple organ failure. He was 79.
Daniel Dawson McTavish
Daniel Dawson McTavish, a founding member and first president of the Canadian Club of Lake Chapala, died August 14 at the age of 80 after a nine-month battle with cancer. In more than 18 years as a hardworking community protagonist, he spearheaded many endeavors that have been of long-lasting benefit to both expatriates and Mexican nationals.
John W. Brennan, after 58 years living, studying, working and raising a large family in Mexico, died in a Guadalajara hospital July 21 at the age of 85 from complications due to an infection ten days after having heart surgery.
Chapala resident Robert (Bob) Charles Carruth Sr. died July 14 at the age of 86.
Barbara Culp Prince passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on June 29 at the age of 66.

Lakeside resident David M. Price died peacefully in his sleep on July 12, following a protracted battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 74.
Marita Annette Adams died peacefully after a long illness at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto on July 4. She was 57.
