Investors are set to plow some $US150 million into 18 new hotels in the Guadalajara metropolitan area over the next two years, says Miguel Angel Fong, president of the Jalisco Hotel and Motel Association. 

Cranes move into position the first of 358 steel beams that will form the base of the overground section of Guadalajara’s third Tren Ligero (subway) line. Each beam is 40 meters in length, weighs 98 tons and will need 500 liters of paint.
