Taxes
A discount of 15 percent is available for municipal property taxes (predial) paid January 2 to February 28 at Chapala’s Catastro (land registry) office in Chapala City Hall, open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Special discounts of up to 50 percent may apply for those over 65 or with disabilities, depending on the property value.

Pastorelas
Chapala offers up two public Christmas plays (pastorelas) this weekend. Saturday, December 21, a group from Comala, Colima performs at the Fuente de los Pescadores in front of the Malecon, 7 p.m. (no cost) and Sunday, December 22, a comic pastorela “The Rematch: Devils vs Angels,” takes place at the Centro Cultural Antigua Presidencia, 7 p.m. (cost: 30 pesos).
Toys for Tots run
American Legion Post 7 Chapala and Los Gueros Motorcycle Club will conduct their 6th annual Toys for Tots Run, Saturday, December 14.
