Dear Sir,
After his sarcastic, unnecessary and totally insensitive statement, I wonder if Mitt Romney stayed around London long enough to witness what has to be one of the most spectacular Olympics, ever.
From the incredibly well-orchestrated Opening Ceremony, the totally well-organized games themselves and the spectacular and unbeatable Closing Ceremony, I wonder if Mr. Romney would still state that “London is not ready for the Games”? It appears to me this Presidential (?) candidate needs to think and investigate a little more before making such outrageous, smart rear-ended statements.
I would have a good use for one of the Olympic Torches but, unfortunately, that would just be a waste of a valuable asset — the torch.
I hope, now, that Mr. Romney has the courtesy and decency to publicly apologize to the British people, the Olympic organizers the athletes and volunteers for his insulting pre-games statement.
John Standen,
Chula Vista
