Dear Sir,
Thanks for helping us try to understand traveling with animals to and from Mexico, as written by Emma Bergh-Apton.
It all seems to be a very effective, efficient, safe system when arriving/returning to Mexico with a pet. However, this just does not jive with at least two letters to the Reporter I have read, where the travelers’ animals, with proper documentation, had their pets subjected to a variety of abuses at the Guadalajara International Airport. These included a four-hour wait after a long flight, indiscriminate spraying down of the animals (to the point where a cat was almost killed and/or had to be hospitalized) and thermometers “jammed” into rear ends.
