Friends and lovers at Lakeside will have some interesting choices for their Valentine’s Day (known as Dia del Amor y la Amistad in Mexico) celebrations.
Manix Restaurant (Ocampo 57, Ajijic) is going full-out with a dinner dance on Thursday, February 14, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Enjoy a four-course meal, music by Ron Baker and Amy Santos and roses for the ladies. Roberto’s Restaurant(Carretera Pte. 35) will utilize the regular dinner menu including Sonora steaks from 120 to 150 pesos, roast duckling a l’orange for 250 pesos, broiled loin of spring lamb for 195 pesos and lobster thermador for 295 pesos. All dinners include French onion soup or Caesar salad. Valentine’s Day music will be by “Sol y Luna,” who will dazzle you with Mexican and American ballads and those “oldies” that make you dance. Appetizers include Passion Shrimp Salad or Affectionate Cream of Clam Soup. Entrees are Midnight Love Chicken, Romance Shrimp and Poetic Salmon. Number Four (Donato Guerra 4, Ajijic) will celebrate February 14 with a special three-course fixed-price menu for 300 pesos per person or a la carte offerings of Cuban Lobster tails and imported lamb rack. Le Café Parisianne (Hidalgo 79-N, in the kiosk next to Maskaras Clinic) is giving away mini cheesecakes with food purchase of 70 pesos per person (or more). The specials are Salmon Filet cooked in fine herbs or spaghetti in creamy cilantro sauce. No phone number listed.
La Bodega (Calle 16 de Septiembre 124, Ajijic) will serve a choice of three entrees, chicken, filet Mignon and shrimp, along with dessert for 200 pesos per person.
