Bitter rivals Chivas and America tied without goals in the first leg of the quarter final of the Liga MX playoffs Thursday evening at the Estadio Omnilife in Guadalajara.
Despite being roared on by a capacity crowd, the local outfit were unable to make their home field advantage count and now face a tricky return leg at the Azteca Stadium in the capital on Sunday.
America had a player ejected in the 60th minute, while Chivas were also reduced to ten men with nine minutes still on the clock.
In the other quarter final games, Leon tied Morelia 1-1, Santos were held at home by Pachuca 1-1, and Monterrey downed cross-town rivals Tigres 3-1.
