Two more Jaliscienses have booked their passage for the Tokyo Olympics: Úrsula Sánchez and José Luis Santana (right), who will participate in the women’s and men’s marathons.
They join six other athletes from the state of Jalisco who have already qualified in their respective disciplines: Jane Valencia (wrestling), Mariana Arceo (pentathlon), Alejandra Ramírez (shooting), Jorge Orozco (shooting), Elena Oetling (sailing) and Juan Pérez (sailing).
The deferred 2020 Tokyo Olympics are scheduled to run from July 23 to August 8, 2021. The number of athletes from Jalisco participating in the games is likely to increase when the squads for Mexico’s men’s baseball and soccer teams are announced.
