Find our children, Central American mothers plead in Guadalajara march

Mothers from Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras whose children disappeared in Mexico led a procession through the streets of Guadalajara Wednesday to the Zapopan Basilica.

Many of the mothers believe their sons were kidnapped as they passed through Mexico en route to a better life in the United States.

The destination of the march was significant.  Some participants carried banners criticizing the Catholic Church for its reluctance to condemn and speak out about the thousands of people who have gone missing in this country.

The march was organized by several civic groups, and included members of a Franciscan order.
