The incident occurred outside the Auditorio Telmex in Zapopan, but the venue’s operators quickly distanced themselves from any blame, saying the event was organized by a private firm.
The storm, which began around 8 p.m. and lasted for about an hour and a half, caused severe flooding in various parts of the city, including on busy thoroughfares Lopez Mateos and Avenida Patria. Many trees were reported to have fallen in the strong winds.
