Guadalajara boxing superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is set to open 30 convenience stores in Guadalajara under the brand name “Upper by Canelo Energy.”
Among the locations of the stores, of which a few are already in operation, are Plaza del Sol, Plaza La Cima (Zapopan), at Montenegro and Marsella in Colonia Americana, as well as on Avenida Plan de San Luis and Calle Ruben Dario.
In 2021, Alvarez launched his Canelo Energy gas station chain, announcing his intention to open more than 100 establishments throughout the country.
Alvarez, 32, has won world titles at four weight divisions, and is the highest paid sportsperson in Mexico, with a net worth of more than $US200 million, according to various sources.
