There were numerous posts by people wondering why local authorities are not enforcing noise control regulations and established curfews for public events. It’s a simple fact that politicians and government officials commonly relax the rules for traditional celebrations, understanding they would face considerable blowback for curtailing long-held customs and their evolution into modern times.
That perspective was echoed in lengthy commentary that circulated in various Facebook groups. The author’s message in Spanish roughly translates as follows:
