Shriners Children’s has opened a new outpatient clinic in Guadalajara, headquartered at the distinguished Hospital Angeles del Carmen in Colonia Monraz.
The facility will provide much-needed pediatric orthopedic care to thousands of patients from Jalisco and surrounding states, eliminating costly, time-consuming travel to Shriner Children’s Hospital in Mexico City.
“This is an enormous advancement for Shriners Children’s in Mexico,” said clinic manager Omar Cardenas Magaña, M.D. “Providing care regardless of a family’s ability to pay will make a big difference in the lives of these children.”
The new clinic will be especially beneficial for the Lake Chapala Shrine Club, which has channeled more than 1,500 patients to Mexico City since 2006, a total of 78 last year alone.
