By a narrow margin, inhabitants of San Antonio Tlayacapan chose the construction of a new bandstand (kiosco) at the town plaza during the public opinion poll conducted Monday, September 12 by municipal government personnel.
Participants filled out numbered ballots posing two questions: 1. Do you approve remodeling the plaza (Yes or No)? and 2. Do you prefer a new and larger kiosco; improving the present one; or keeping just it as is? Additional space on the form was available to comment on priority town needs for government attention.
Out of 469 persons surveyed, all but seven voted in favor of the renovation project. On the second question, 248 opted for a new bandstand, 123 favored fixing the existing one and 91 voted to leave it untouched. The project is scheduled to start next week.
