Family members of Wendy Sánchez Muñoz, a 33-year-old artist and designer who disappeared on January 9, probably while driving from the coastal town of San Francisco (San Pancho), Nayarit, to Guadalajara, are calling for any information from the public.
Sánchez was last heard of just before she left San Pancho in her white 2015 Jeep Cherokee en route to meet with family in Guadalajara. It is reckoned she started the drive at around 7 a.m., although it is not clear which route she decided to take.
Family members and friends of Sánchez have worked tirelessly to bring the case to public attention, holding vigils on the beach in San Pancho and a rally outside the Jalisco governor’s residence on January 16. They have also been active on social media, posting regularly on Twitter and Facebook at #TeBuscamosWendy.
Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro came out of his residence briefly to talk to family members and promised to provide them with information as soon as he receives any from either his own investigators or Nayarit authorities.
