Lago Chapala Toastmasters hosts special anniversary dinner

Toastmasters International is celebrating a historic milestone: its 100th anniversary.

Founded in 1924 by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley in Santa Ana, California, Toastmasters has grown from a small group of individuals dedicated to improving their public speaking skills into a worldwide organization with over 364,000 members in 16,200 clubs across 145 countries.

Toastmasters has a strong presence in Mexico, with its first club established in 1966, expanding the organization’s influence throughout Latin America. Today, Toastmasters clubs in Mexico continue to empower individuals to develop their leadership and communication skills in both Spanish and English.

To commemorate this special occasion, Toastmasters Lago Chapala will host a celebratory dinner at Los Palmas Restaurant on the Libramiento on Thursday, October 24 at 6 p.m. This event is open to all present and past members of the club and their guests. The evening will be an opportunity to reflect on the history and growth of Toastmasters, share personal stories of transformation, and look ahead to the future of the organization.

Special guests for the evening include Division D Director Ruben Baugh and other Toastmasters officers from the area. They will be sharing their experiences and the impact Toastmasters has had on their personal and professional lives.
