Dozens of Lake Chapala tourist boat operators, city hall staffers and volunteers pitched in for the lirio acuático cleanup campaign that took place last weekend under the auspices of the local government.
On Saturday alone, an estimated 150 tons of the prolific water weed were removed from the lake to help clear the water surface in front of the Chapala Malecón.
