The video-mapping projections screened at the Chapala waterfront pitched as a highlight of the February 8 to 13 Carnaval festivities were plagued by last-minute schedule changes and technical issues that tarnished the program’s expected glamor.


Chapala presents defense for Riberas sewage system

After February 2 meetings with authorities of the National Water Commission  (Conagua) and the federal Ministry of the Environment (Semarnat) in Guadalajara, Chapala Mayor Alejandro Aguirre expressed confidence that the conflict over a sewage system project shut down in Riberas del Pilar a week earlier will be resolved favorably and eventually proceed as planned.

Charities foundation adjusts to changing tax rules

The Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities (FFLCC) was established in 2009 to provide U.S. taxpayers with a channel for making donations to lakeside area non-profit organizations that are eligible for charity deductions by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
