Charities foundation adjusts to changing tax rules

The Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities (FFLCC) was established in 2009 to provide U.S. taxpayers with a channel for making donations to lakeside area non-profit organizations that are eligible for charity deductions by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

pg3bHowever, as an IRS-recognized a 501(c)(3) charity, FFLCC has been obliged to recently adjust its criteria to remain fully compliant with government and tax regulations.

Over the past 10 years, the foundation has been a conduit for 70 million pesos in tax-deductible donations, an average of US$250,000 per annum, in benefit of nearly 40 affiliated organizations dedicated to fostering health and education programs, human and community services and animal welfare that have strong volunteer leadership and a track record of fulfilling their respective missions.
