The final day for payment of the annual vehicle tax (refrendo) while still obtaining a five-percent discount is Monday, March 31. After Monday the full fee of 455 pesos will apply.
According to the Jalisco Finance Department, just under one-third of the state’s two million registered vehicle owners still have to pay the tax.
From April, reminders will start to be sent out to those who have yet to pay the tax, asking them to cough up within a certain time limit. Failure to do so will incur late-payment fines.
