All banks and federal, state and municipal government offices throughout Mexico will be closed for business on Thursday, December 25 and again on January 1. Diplomatic missions will also be closed, as will this newspaper’s offices in Guadalajara and Ajijic.
Chapala city hall is closing most of its office doors from December 20 through January 4, with a skeleton staff remaining on duty to keep key services running through the holiday period. Public and private schools are on break until Wednesday, January 7.
Services at the Chapala INM immigration office have been suspended until January 9. The Guadalajara office continues on a regular schedule, although staffing levels may be affected.
