Aeromexico expands to Boston, Toronto

Aeromexico will launch direct flights from Mexico City to Toronto and Boston, as of May and June respectively, the airline’s director general Andres Conesa revealed in the February edition of its in-flight magazine Aire.

In addition, the airline will add a fourth weekly flight from Mexico City to London in April and a fifth in June. Also in April, Aeromexico will begin daily flights from Monterrey to JFK New York and add a third weekly flight to Shanghai.

Over the next few months, Aeromexico plans to open new routes from Mexico City to Medellin, Colombia; Managua, Nicaragua; and Panama.  Later this month, Aeromexico will be receiving its seventh Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.  Conesa says the sixth and seventh Dreamliners will be the first two aircraft to offer in-flight wi-fi, making Aeromexico the first airline in Latin America to provide this service.

With its new flights, Aeromexico will increase its  capacity by around ten percent this year, Conesa told reporters this week. The airline’s earnings grew by 8.3 percent in 201.
