Heat wave to continue

The sizzling temperatures will continue for another week, weather experts confirm.

The mercury rose to 37.5 degrees Celsius (99.5 degrees Fahrenheit) in parts of metro area Guadalajara on Sunday, June 1 and will hover around that zone (34-37C) until the rainy season begins in earnest (June 13-15), according to the local delegation of the National Water Commission.   

Many regions in the Jalisco provinces sweltered even more.  The temperature is Santa Rosa in the municipality Amatitan registered 44.5C (112.10F), while the thermometer hit 44C in Bolaños in the north of the state. Stay cool!
