Deportations to Jalisco on the decline, recent stats indicate

The number of Jalisco citizens deported from the United States between January 1 and April 16 fell by 30 percent

compared with the same period in 2016, according to Mariana Marquez, director of a state agency that attends to migrants. Only five of the 1,976 jaliscienses sent home during this period of 2017 had their deportation processes initiated after Donald Trump took office, she said.

The numbers of citizens repatriated to Jalisco hit a peak in 2010 and has been declining each year since, Marquez added.  This tends to back up data that shows illegal immigration from Mexico to be decreasing and not rising, as Trump often claimed during his presidential campaign.
