Thumbs up for Easter observances

Monday, March 7, Jalisco will return to the green (low risk) category on the federal government’s Covid stoplight platform, the mechanism that determines what activities are safe to resume and/or with what restrictions on a state-by-state basis.

Green indicates that all activities are safe to carry out, but that “precautions” should still be observed.

Friday, February 25, the Jalisco government announced that after two years of restrictions, all Easter observances in the state can go ahead as normal. These include the annual religious pilgrimage to the town of Talpa, visits to seven churches on Maunday Thursday, and staging of Viacrucis (outdoor passion plays).

Hotels are now be able to operate at full capacity in all areas of their premises, while the upper limit for mass events for which permission is required has risen to 1,200.
