Few endeavours undertaken by charismatic wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson fail to turn to gold.
While often given short shrift by critics, his films have grossed over US$3.5 billion in North America and US$10.5 billion worldwide.
And Johnson’s latest business venture isn’t going too badly either.
Teremana Tequila, Johnson’s super-premium, handcrafted, small-batch tequila launched in May 2020, racked up sales of 640,000 nine-liter cases in 2021 and was recently named Market Watch’s Best New Spirits Product of 2021. It was named Tequila of the Year at the USA Spirits Ratings.
“This is a very inspiring road for me and my founding partners to travel down as this dream has become a reality,” Johnson said in a press statement released by his company Siete Bucks Spirits.
