Cancellation

Viva la Musica has announced the cancellation of its November 20 String Quartet concert due to a conflicting charity concert in Chapala. According to a Viva news release, the performers are unable to play during the following week.   Anyone who has purchased tickets for this concert may obtain a refund at the Lake Chapala Society ticket booth on Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon.

Dia de los Muertos Show

The work of local jewelry artist Sacha Frowine will be featured at Galeria Sol Mexicano from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 1. Frowine has designed a line of special themed pieces to celebrate el Dia de los Muertos. Galeria Sol Mexicano is at Colón 13 in Ajijic.

Little Theatre

Nobel Prize-winning author Harold Pinter’s “Betrayal” will open at the Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) on November 7. The intense drama about adultery and lies and the misremembered memories of love is directed by Neal Checkoway. “The story is told backwards and as we move into the past the audience is aware of what will happen and knows more than do the characters themselves,” says Checkoway. “In typical Pinter style, what is unsaid is often more significant than what is actually spoken.”

Xilotl in the Kiosco

Artist Isidro Xilonzóchitl of San Juan Cosalá will be honored at a 7:30 p.m. cocktail reception during the Saturday, October 11 opening of “Xilotl,” an exhibit of his newest body of work. The event will be held at the Pedro Morales graphic museum sala of the bandstand (kiosco) in the San Juan Cosalá plaza.
