Laguna Chapalac - May 4, 2013

The “Loss and Moving Forward” support group meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The group is for people who have lost a life partner, parent or child through death or divorce. Through a circle of support participants focus on the roller coaster of emotions experienced and ways to positively harness those emotions towards creating a new life. Laguna Chapalac - April 27, 2013

The next meeting of the Genealogy Forum will take place Monday, April 29, 2 p.m. in the Sala at the Lake Chapala Society (LCS).  This month Marci Bowman will discuss all the updates, new features and changes to FamilySearch.org. They are adding several new features for creating an online family tree. The group will also talk about how to use the search and filter features to find those illusive records and why you should create your own account for added functionality.

Benefit for peace

As part of the celebration of the 16th Annual Gandhi-King Season for Peace and Non-Violence, a buffet breakfast was held every Wednesday in March at Salvador’s to benefit the families of the victims of the May 2012 massacre when young people from Chapala to Jocotepec were kidnapped and murdered. Raffle tickets were sold for a one-week stay at the Gas Lamp Plaza Suites time share in San Diego, California.
