The first Chedraui supermarket in the Puerto Vallarta area is nearing completion on Highway 200 close to the Nuevo Vallarta overpass. According to workers at the store site, the planned opening date is December 1.

The Beta Sigma Phi International service sorority has set its fourth annual Wine and Cheese Cocktail Party Benefit for Tuesday, November 29, 7-9:30 p.m., in the club room at La Vida Condo, on Lazaro Cardenas at Javier Mina in Bucerias.
Bocce Ball Tournament
A few weeks after hosting an elegant dinner dance in late January, the Bocce Ball Committee and aficionados of the sport donned shorts and t-shirts to face off in the 6th annual Bocce Ball Tournament on February 15.
Otra Vez
Last November, a little thrift store named Otra Vez opened its doors to the residents of La Manzanilla and became an instant hit with both the Mexican and expat communities. Operating solely with donations and dedicated volunteers, it is now in its second year with no signs of slowing down.

This past summer we had a tragic drowning of a young man in La Manzanilla. He was a construction worker for the Four Seasons resort and was enjoying his Sunday at the beach. The ocean waters were churning more than usual because of the recent storms in the area.
