Guadalajara diver Alejandra Orozco, 17, has won a gold medal the Youth Olympics taking place in Nanjing, China – Mexico’s first ever in a Youth Olympics.
Orozco triumphed alongside Norway’s Daniel Jensen in the synchronized 10-meter platform event. She also won a bronze medal in the women’s individual category.
At age of 15, Orozco won a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympic Games alongside world champion Paola Espinosa in the synchronized 10-meter platform event. She was the youngest Mexican athlete to take part the 2012 Olympics.
