The Lake Chapala Society Children’s Art Program (CAP) has opened registrations for the annual Summer Art Camp activities scheduled to run for the week of August 7 through 12.
Workshops to be held Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to noon, will include acrylic or watercolor painting for kids age 12 and up; embossed aluminum art work, ceramics or corn husk crafts, ages 10 and up; abstract art, sketching, mosaic work, or embroidery, ages 8 and up; drawing and painting, ages 6 and up; and diverse activities for youngsters 6 years and under accompanied by a supervising adult. Instruction is conducted by a team of CAP volunteers
Each category has a specific limited number of openings, with a waiting list offered for groups in which no-shows leave spaces available on Day One.
The program is geared to accommodate a total of around 150 participants. All workshops are offered free of charge, including light snacks provided to the youngsters each day.
Enrollments are being registered during regular CAP sessions every Saturday, 10 a.m. to Noon, with the submission of the inscription form that includes the name and age of the participant, workshop preferences, emergency parental contact information, and agreement with program behavioral rules.
The Art Camp will close on Saturday, August 12, 10 a.m. to noon, with the customary display and sale of workshop products the young creators choose to part with for a price to their customers.
