Frank Le, the Canadian Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner in Guadalajara, welcomed some 150 guests to an early Canada Day celebration at the Guadalajara World Trade Center Tuesday, June 25.
The festive occasion gave him a chance to highlight the 80th anniversary of Canada-Mexico bilateral relations. Canadian beef was on the menu (and featured in cookbooks that were swag for the taking), as well as other tasty items from Carnes Finas de Sonora, PZA Pizzeria (a Canadian franchise) and other sponsors of the event. A four-piece chamber orchestra — students of Festival de Febrero Northern Lights founder Chris Wilshere — kept the audience entertained with low-key classical music. Guadalajara business people and various consuls of other nations were the event’s main guests, as well as a few Chapala residents, including Aurora Michel.
